Integral of log x product of d/dx arctan using complex analysis
In this article, I provide a solution to AMM Problem 12509.
I've not done a computation this involved in a VERY long time. But
this was a real challenge and a great complex analysis problem.
Would've been so much easier if they did log |ax| and integrated from
-infty to infty, since the hardest part was dealing with the integral
on the imaginary axis.
In such problems, usually the other parts of the contour are usually
disposable but not here! That imaginary axis part really was computationally
intense!!!
I still enjoyed it a lot!
